TEHRAN, Iran – A 21-year old Iranian man is going to have to cope with a life-long stiffy after a tattoo artist sliced too deep into his penis, reports The Daily Mail. The unnamed Iranian patient wanted to tattoo the phrase ‘borow be salaamat’ – good luck with your journeys- and a dedication to his girlfriend with the letter M – his girlfriend’s initial – on “the shaft of his member” as a statement of love.
The whole operation went wrong, though, and left the young adult with a nonsichemic priapism as the result of a needle “being plunged to deep.” Doctors wrote in the Journal of Sexual Medicine that the Iranian’s medical condition is likely to have been caused by the tattoo needle creating an arteriovenous fistula. A fistula consists of a connection between two organs that aren’t normally linked. In this case the connection was made between a vein and an artery.
“For eight days after tattooing, the penis was painful, and thus there were no erections,” stated the authors in the Journal’s paper. “After that, the patient noticed longer-than-usual sleep-related erections. This progressed, within a week, to a constantly half-rigid penis, day and night.”
The man’s penis still functions regularly despite the constant pressure and blood flow. Thus, he has declined to undergo an operation to fix his condition as he has no regrets.
